This work is entitled Audio-visual Poem “Metamorphosis of Love.”
Its subtitle is “Picassoand Marie-Therese — Love Dedicated to Minotaur.” This work visually represents a Picasso’s love for Marie-Therese based on the Picasso’s pictures painting Marie- Therese. This work is also intended to analytically represent how great the Picasso’s pictures painting Marie-Therese are through sound and visuals. It is a kind of sound and visual “criticism” on the Picasso’s pictures.
The sound part of this work is based on the ballet music “Love Dedicated to Minotaur — Picasso and Marie-Therese” (written and produced by Kazuhiko Maehara). This ballet music was composed at the request of the Higaki ballet corps in 1999. While I was composing the music, I could realize how superb the Picasso’s world. The composition activity triggered my producing this Audio-visual Poem.
